GEMMA BYRNE

This was a joint Street Theatre project where we designed and fabricated costumes based on a prequal to the Billy Goats Gruff fairy-tale. Myself and Rob Lee designed the Trolls together and then created our own costumes. I created the female Troll and he created the male.

The head of my troll was sculpted from polystyrene and covered with cotton fabric and PVA glue, which was secured to a helmet for the costume wearer to have on their head. The body was made from zote foam, plastic tubing, zote foam, upholstery foam and then covered in fabric and PVA.

I made her hair from wool and fabric and her clothing from fabric and hessian.
